Will of Jordan Bailey<\/al> Holmes County, Mississippi Volume 1 Chancery Clerk 1833 - 1888 In the name of the Divine God Amen! I Jordan Bailey of the County of Holmes and State of Mississippi being of sound mind and disposing memory do make and \r\npublish the following as my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills that may have been made by me.<\/p>\r\n\r\nItem 1: I will my body to the earth and my spirit to the God who gave it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Item 2: I will and direct that all my just debts be \r\npaid by my executor hereafter named as soon as practicable and also authorize my said executor as soon as practicable to \r\npurchase a suitable monument and tombstone to be placed on my grave.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Item 3: Having heretofore given to my daughter \r\nMartha Ann McGaw a considerable portion of my said estate which I value to be worth over a thousand dollars, it is my \r\nwill and desire the none of her heirs receive any portion of my estate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Item 4: I give to my son Jno W. Bailey my silver \r\nwatch and case of razors, and having heretofore given to my son said John W. in money, property, and otherwise a \r\nconsiderable portion of my property about $2,000 it is my will and desire that he have nothing of my estate except the \r\nabove bequest.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Item 5: Having heretofore advanced to my daughter Elizabeth F. Hester in money, land and property about \r\nthe sum of fourteen hundred dollars, it is my will and desire that she take nothing of my estate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Item 6: Having \r\npreviously given my daughter Abigail O. Green the amount of six hundred dollars in money and property, it is my will and \r\ndesire that she have one fifth of the money that may remain after the payment of my just debts and liabilities.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Item 7: \r\nHaving previously advanced to my son David J. Bailey in money, land and property about Two Thousand Dollars, it is my \r\nwill and desire that he take nothing of my estate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Item 8: The rest of real, personal and mixed property I give and \r\nbequeath to my wife C.J. Bailey and my daughters, Mary W., Anna F., and Emma R. Bailey, share and share alike and should \r\nthe said Mary W. Bailey desire to have her portion of my real estate set apart to her at any time it is my desire that \r\nthe same shall be done and her portion of land being One Hundred & Thirty Acres shall be set off to her and shall be the \r\nfollowing: All lying north of Funneygusha Creek W.W 1\/4 Sec 30 W 1\/2 SW 1\/4 Sec 19 & 41. 50 Acres in the E 1\/2 S W 1\/4 \r\nSec 19 north of Funnegusha Creek and adjoined to said W 1\/2 S W 1\/4 & measured by a line running North and South \r\nparallel with the East line of said W 1\/2 S W 1\/4 Sec 19 all in S. 16 R 3 East & should the said Mary W. die without \r\nissue, it is my will that her interest in my estate [should be given to daughters] Addie F. Bailey and Emma L. Bailey or \r\nthe survivor or survivors unless she shall have sold said lands before her death. The property embraced in this Item \r\nincludes my property in this state and in the State of Virginia.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Item 9: I nominate and appoint my friend A.D. Stark to \r\nexecute this my last will and testament and ask that he be not required to give bond.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Item 10: I appoint my wife C.J. \r\nBailey guardian of my minor children Addie F. and Emma L.
